Taco and Burrito <3

Hey guys,

I’ve been taking a small break from the Teddy Bear Gathering project (am I done yet?!) and picked up on the “Burrito” cross-stitch I hadn’t worked on in ages. I’ve completed both the taco and burrito. This portion has a bit of meaning to me because my boyfriend calls me taco while I call him burrito because of this poem.

I like how little stitching I have to do. The burrito was a bit of a toughie since I had to find seven different shades of brown from previous projects I’ve completed or from random bits of floss I had laying around.

Cross-Stitching and Trap Music

Hey guys!

This past Saturday, a few friends and I got together for a pleasant afternoon/evening of cross-stitching, trap/hip-hop music, booze, and to celebrate Kelly getting her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification. πŸ™‚ Natalia was incredibly kind for hosting and setting up a taco bar for us! Credit to Corey and Kelly for the group picture.

Coincidentally, this taco for the “burrito poem” pattern is what I stitched while at Natalia’s. It’s missing some green and red for the lettuce and tomatoes/peppers.

I couldn’t believe that Katy, Natalia, and I stitched ’til past 10 PM.Β  Props to Katy for sticking with the stitching until late into the night since it was her first time cross-stitching! We girls all started stitching at around 4-5ish PM, and I wasn’t expecting for us to be stitching for more than an hour or two. Who would have thought that cross-stitching, trap/hip-hop music, and alcohol would go so well together?!

So, I usually try to keep this blog mainly about cross-stitching, but I promise this will relate to it: I started a bullet journal! This pretty Moleskine notebook was on clearance at Target and I got some new felt pens to write in it.

I usually have post-it notes all over the place in my room, and I wanted to find a way to make to-do lists and to write down short-term goals, long-term goals, and random notes all-in-one. Bullet-journaling is the perfect method for all that. I like that it’s minimalistic, organized,Β and customizable too if need be.

Here’s a page I set up specifically for random WordPress post ideas. See? πŸ™‚

Burrito!

2015-10-04 21.24.55I’m stitching a poem of sorts my boyfriend came up with. You see, he likes to say that I have a tendency of going into “burrito mode” by wrapping myself tightly inside a blanket when sleeping (not to say that he doesn’t also). One night while in a drunken or a half-sleepy state, he made this poem. To this day, it’s been an inside joke shared just between the two of us πŸ˜€

The finished text is two weeks worth of stitching. I plan on adding small patterns of a burrito, a taco, a cat and a heart; two will be in the top left hand corner, two will be in the bottom right corner, and maybe fillers will be in the two corners left over.

lol, apparently “taco cat” is a palindrome.
